NAFSO is a voluntary non-profit organization working towards the empowerment of the fishing communities, which eventually leads to the sustainable development of fisheries in the country. So we are membership based organization and work for the sustainable future of the country. We want to unionize the fishing communities and organize them for win their own rights.
We represent the fisher people, empower them through education and campaigning. Capacity building among fishers is one way we work and this leads to the fishers to articulate their own issues and strengthen the struggle for the rights.
So we need your support for the struggle for the fisher people's rights. For this you can join hand with NAFSO campaigns for the establishment of sustainable fisheries policy and advocate the policy makers towards sustainability and human rights.
At the same time we need your solidarity action towards the fisher people unionization under National Fisher People Union.[NFPU]
NAFSO conduct alternative economic development activities among the fishing communities and among the small producers in the country. We need your cooperation both local and foreign to sustain their industries for future.
At the moment we are working among the tsunami affected coastal communities and serve them for a decent life and rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
For all these work we need some funds that will strengthen the movement in the long run.
